Our commitment to digital accessibility for all users
Last updated: January 4, 2025
LawCite is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
We believe that all law enforcement professionals, regardless of ability, should have full access to legal research tools that help them serve their communities effectively.
LawCite aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility of LawCite:
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements can be accessed using keyboard only
Screen Reader Support
Semantic HTML and ARIA labels for assistive technologies
Color Contrast
Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements
Resizable Text
Content remains readable when text is enlarged up to 200%
Focus Indicators
Visible focus states for keyboard navigation
Alt Text
Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
Form Labels
All form inputs have associated labels
Error Identification
Clear error messages that identify the issue
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. We are actively working to identify and address these issues:
PDF Exports
Exported PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We recommend using the Word export option for better accessibility.
Third-Party Content
Some legal case content from external databases may not meet all accessibility standards.
Complex Legal Citations
Some formatted legal citations may be read differently by screen readers.
LawCite is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
