⚠️ PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING LAWCITE

By accessing or using LawCite (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Disclaimer. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.

01 — Nature of Service

1.1 Research Tool Only

LawCite is a legal research tool designed to assist law enforcement officers in locating potentially relevant case law for research purposes only. LawCite:

Provides summaries and excerpts of court opinions
Uses artificial intelligence to analyze legal scenarios
Searches multiple legal databases for potentially relevant cases
Offers preliminary analysis of legal issues

1.2 What LawCite Is NOT

LawCite is NOT:

A substitute for legal advice from a qualified attorney
A substitute for proper legal training or education
A guarantee of legal accuracy or completeness
A replacement for consultation with your agency's legal counsel
A tool that can predict case outcomes or legal decisions

02 — No Attorney-Client Relationship

THE USE OF LAWCITE DOES NOT CREATE AN ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

2.1 No Legal Advice

The use of LawCite does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and LawCite, its operators, owners, developers, or any affiliated parties. Nothing provided through the Service constitutes legal advice, and you should not rely on any information from LawCite as legal advice.

2.2 Not a Substitute for Legal Counsel

LawCite is not a substitute for the advice of a licensed attorney. For specific legal advice regarding your situation, you must consult with a qualified attorney who is licensed to practice law in your jurisdiction.

03 — Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Warranties of merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose

That the Service will meet your specific needs or requirements

3.3 AI-Generated Content Limitations

LawCite uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to analyze legal scenarios and provide information. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT:

AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
AI systems can produce "hallucinations" (fabricated information that appears plausible)
Despite LawCite's anti-hallucination measures and verification processes, errors may still occur
AI analysis may misinterpret legal principles or apply them incorrectly to your scenario
The AI does not have human judgment, common sense, or professional legal training

3.4 Database Limitations

LawCite searches multiple legal databases, but YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT:

No legal database is comprehensive or complete
Recent cases may not yet be included in available databases
Older cases may not be digitized or available electronically
Unpublished opinions may not be accessible
State and local court decisions may have limited coverage
Case law is constantly evolving and being refined by new decisions

06 — Specific Warnings and Acknowledgments

6.1 Citation Verification
